Covid & ISO Health Informatics Experience & Telehealth Services
The policy and resourcing decisions will determine the role of telehealth in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Flinders University's study sought out health professionals about their experiences using telehealth in COVID-19. Telehealth, which lets clinicians and doctors to communicate with patients over the either via phone or internet, was encouraged in Australia during initial stages of the pandemic. This was to lower the possibility of transmission of infectious diseases. This is particularly beneficial to rural and remote areas, where access to physical health services might be difficult.

Flinders University's Professor Paul Ward, Professor HailayAbrha geosesew (Professor Anthony Maeder), Professor HailayAbrha Gesesew, Dr Alan Taylor and Professor HailayAbrha Gesesew conducted surveys of 91 healthcare professionals to assess their experiences with Telehealth during the pandemic. The advantages of legalizing the service of telehealth, increased confidence in the provision and greater financial and human resources are all acknowledged by the clinicians.

"While there were many doctors who believed the switch to telehealth had occurred because of the pandemic," stated Dr Alan Taylor (a lead author at Flinders University who is also a member on the Australian Telehealth Society Committee).

Dr Taylor declared that it's difficult to know if Telehealth will continue to be available following the pandemic. The future funding for telehealth services could also be affected by this complex mix between policies and the clinical practices. Dr Alan Taylor led a project which developed an international standard for the field of telehealth services. Dr Taylor stated that international standards are an important part of world trade in goods, services, and with the increasing use of telehealth services, it is crucial to maintain the quality of telehealth services subject to ISO/TR 11633-2:2021 Health informatics-Information security management for remote maintenance of medical devices and medical information systems. These guidelines are very helpful for healthcare professionals, including primary physicians, who wish to use risk management processes in order to establish objectives for quality and create protocols to manage telehealth service operations. Telehealth quality management
Management of operational and strategic processes related to regulations knowledge management (best practice) and guidelines
People involved in healthcare processes such as planning and healthcare activities.
Management of financial resources
Management and security of information
Processes that relate to the provision and plan of infrastructure and human resources and technology resources
